HIGHFIELDS ROLLERS CYCLING CLUB
Highfields Rollers Cycling Club is an incorporated entity and an affiliated Club of Cycling Queensland.
Highfields Rollers Cycling Club Inc evolved when a group of local road cycling enthusiasts came together in 2007 to actively promote the sport to bicycle riders (including newcomers) in the Highfields district.
All riders are welcome to join us on our rides, however financial membership of our Club is encouraged to ensure that you have appropriate insurance cover that is provided through membership of Cycling Australia and Cycling QLD.
Our Club philosophy - age and inexperience should not be considered as barriers to entering cycling and those who ride with us vary from the very experienced to the novice. Our Club strives to provide a friendly, challenging, safe and enjoyable environment for road cyclists, with an emphasis on the recreational and social aspects of road cycling; and to encourage and develop those who want to race.
What we do - We enjoy each other’s company, we meet for coffee and yes, we wear lycra. As Club members we ride whenever we can either individually in small groups with other members however we do have set ride times on Saturdays and at other special ride events and competitions.
Saturday Club Rides - depart from and return to The Cafe on the New England Highway at Highfields most Saturday mornings. Rides depart in four groups based upon distance and average speed groupings with the faster rides starting earlier.
6:15 am (Group 4), 6:30 am (Group 3), 6.45 am (Group 2), 7.00 am (Group 1)
